Homemade Play Dough please

It felt like a good day to make play dough, it's activity week so why not!? I didn't really like the recipes on Pinterest so I just googled it. The one I found I really liked because it was simple and very easy. Follow these instructions:
2 cups flour
2 cups warm water
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon cream of tartar (optional for improved elasticity)

food coloring (liquid, powder, or unsweetened drink mix)
scented oils

We ended up making four colors including this one, Jaylen was a little skeptical about it at first as you can see but once I showed him what you can do with it he couldn't stop playing with the stuff. Make sure you store them in sealed containers because just like real play dough it will dry out and get hard. Have fun making endless amount of this stuff for a lot cheaper than the store bought.

More Simple Edits.

I've always had a thing for photography but I really didn't get into until after I had my son and started following some blogs. I really liked the way they captured their children like in the blog Happiness is Eva. So with a little inspiration and a few ideas of my own I started doing stuff like this. I believe I have another one like this in a post about when he turned one. I want to try and do one of these every year and the half a year mark. Although he hasn't many many years under his belt yet this one is my favorite so far.

Cotton rocks... I think not.

Activity of the week! So I obviously like
to find different sensory things for
Jaylen to do but this one not our finest.
I found it on Pinterest, where most
of my inspiration comes from so
if you want to try it out with you little
one you can find it here or just follow
my pictures! I didn't think mine came out like they should have because we had a hard time breaking them. But Jaylen had a good time helping me make them and at least trying to break them. Try it out and let me know if yours turned out like mine or the much better example in the link above.

Dragon Jaylen

This Halloween Mr. Jay was a dragon! This costume wasn't as hard to find as last years, he was a frog then. He actually had a doctors appointment the same day
But it worked out because we made a day of it.
After his appointment we went to the outlet mall where
they had trick or treating for the little ones.

We went to this awesome neighborhood that we will probably continue to go to for years to come. It just has a very home town feel the people giving out candy are all really nice and mostly everyone decorated. There was one this one house that the husband and wife take pictures of the kids and hang them on a cork board so you can come back next year to take it home then he will take another picture. So I'm excited to go back for sure next year and get our picture and just enjoy that neighborhood.
