Table Tents Anyone

Today we had lots of fun playing with tables and sheets. My sister and I always used to build the chair/table/couch fort out of our covers and huddle inside and play games and stay up all night.. well until bed time. I feel like every parent should let their kids do this because it's just a thing you do and if they grow up never knowing what a sheet fort is you may have just ruined them. No I'm kidding! Like I always say let their imagination grow.

Cheesy Smiles

Snack time! This amazingly cute little boy has always been a picky eater and when I say that I mean to different varities. He's definiely the kind of kid that likes what he likes and it's hard to break. Reminds me of my sister! So lately I've been trying to introduce a few new snacks a week, these are all things he's had a few times here and there but not as often.

I've learned the best way to go about it is to have what he knows and likes with something he doesn't eat to often like, he loves oranges but cheese by itself he doesn't usually eat. He might get that from me, I don't like cheese alone.. I don't know it's just a thing. So it really seemed to work especially since he was able to pull it apart. But you know what mom always says! Don't play with your food.

Cotton Candy Blues

No pun intended there. This would have to be Jaylen's first cotton candy experience and I think he was thoroughly confused. We were at a little carnival get together they had at my Church and you can't have a carnival without this fluffy blue stuff. I try to limit the amount of sugar intake that Mr Jaylen has these days and practically since he was able to eat anything more than breast milk. Just because I don't want him to become conditioned to it or want it so much. A little sugar is fine of course but when they object like he did with this cotton candy by the look on his face... I don't mind I won't judge!

Growing Imagination

Jaylen's imagination is growing everyday by the minute, he doesn't usually play with stuffies but the other day he was just so in-golfed in them and talking to them it was the cutest thing ever. I think they were supposed to be at the movies but he wasn't really sharing the theater with his new friends. Then he decided to paint and get messy on purpose because I told him he could wipe the paint on himself because he had his new painting apron on. All in all I love love love inspiring kids imagination and I cant't wait to see what else his amazing mind and imagine.

Graduation Day.

Yay! I graduated finally. It really hasn't been that long since I started school last July but any amount of school can feel like an eternity. Dental assisting is a pretty easy after you learn everything about it since the job isn't to demanding honestly anyone could learn it even not going to school. I'm super proud of myself and everything I accomplished in the last couple of years and I'm excited to start my career and see where it takes me and my family.

Monkey See Monkey Do

I think it's a toddler thing? Kids will always copy what we do even when we least expect them too. I definitely try to always set the best example for Jaylen but what I struggle with is the people around him. I know how I want to behave and be portrayed but I can't always help what he see's and hears in the outside world or other people in my family. Although they know what I would like around him, from their own mouths and the T.V but we are human and everyone can sometimes forget the kids listen and listen well. But they things like this that he see's me doing are the greatest. Writing..

Sick days...

Orange juice, water, and Vicks Steam Inhaler.

Jaylen has never been the kind of kid that gets sick often or does he ever get really sick. I can thank myself some for that because I breastfed for sooo long. I can say he's only been sick about 3-4 times in the past 2 years and he probably wouldn't of had that much if he hadn't been in and out of daycare. But it's okay, he bounces back fast and doesn't stay sick long. This time he was majorly congested and it was hard for him to sleep so I knew I wanted something to help instead of just letting it pass on it's own.

So I found this little portable humidifier thingy? It's by Vicks and super cheap! I found it at Walmart here, they have all kinds of different ones but considering I bought it in the store they actually didn't have as many choices as online. It's good to just have just in case and it's really easy to clean and store away,

Oh! and I forgot to mention it comes with little vapor strips you put inside of it with the hot water so it's not just a water humidifier. Check it out for sure it's great for the little ones and yourself when you're sick and congested.
